Product Review: Peanut Butter and Jelly LaraBar

Yet again I find myself surprised by a LaraBar. Somehow this company manages to stick with the same basic ingredients and still create completely different flavors. Peanut Butter and Jelly flavor LaraBar contains only dates, peanuts, unsweetened cherries and salt. The nutritional benefits are too numerous to list, suffice to say this fits very well on the list of healthy snacks.

Carry it with you and eat it anywhere.

Appearance

This bar is a small rectangle shape. There are chunks of cherries and peanuts all through the bar.

Taste and Texture

It actually tasted like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! It was more mild than I expected, lightly sweet, with a nice tangy finish. It had a rich peanut flavor that was fantastic (this from someone who isn’t usually fond of peanuts).

Versatility

Every year for the kid’s birthdays, my sister makes a delicious treat out of vanilla ice cream on a peanut butter rice crisp crust. This bar is perfect for a recipe like that. It would cost more, but the flavor would be it’s own reward.

Overall Value

LaraBars are a great value. They are a sweet and healthy snack that you can have for about the same price as the fat and oil filled alternatives.
